Transitioning into Autumn

There are constantly many chapters going on in my life. Some are related to professional life, some to leisure, personal life, and relationships. If I turn a new page and start a new chapter in one area, the others might carry on.

From the second half of August, I started to think more about the upcoming Fall season – how I want to transition into it and which areas I want it to affect and how.

There was a major New Chapter in my life. At the beginning of the new month, I quit my 9-6 Mon-Fri job that I had done in that place for more than 5 years. As much preparation as I could do, you can live the “new reality” once it hits you. The outcome of that shift? I am rather relieved. To use my mental space more for myself, my goals, and my development. I feel more at home. But I am also aware that this feeling most likely won’t be forever. But as long as I am present in my thoughts and feelings, I am not afraid of this scenario.

Now, taking mid-day walks in the countryside near home, and being amazed by the transitioning nature, inspired me to take a tote bag to my next walk and find some bits and pieces in order to bring this outside beauty to my home, too.

Another decision I made, is to approach the Fall season in my wardrobe, too. Because it’s relatively easy to instantly grab the warmest jacket and boots, and basically dress for Winter temperatures already.

I am taking full use of my knee-high Vamsko Linda boots that are perfect with a pair of tights or skinny trousers, and a long beige trench coat. Which is a rather thin one, but therefore lets me be more playful with layering for example a shirt and knitwear underneath it.

Talking about body and well-being, there are two things I am adjusting. Firstly, skincare. As I will continue to use my old-time favourite Lumene cc-cream with SPF30, which covers my everyday need for a non-Summer sunscreen effect, I start to use richer creams and oils on my skin, as the cold winds, indoor heating and hot showers start to dry my skin. Thanks to Hurmus shop and Sesderma products, I am well prepared. Been using their products for 2 months and I am only halfway through the products. Some other Fall skincare favourites are by Lumene: oil blend and aqua moisturizer – both feel very light on the skin but have an amazing moisturising effect.

Secondly, after I gave my kitchen cupboards a decent cleanout, I found jars full of homegrown and dried peppermint and honey, which made me very excited to have some hot-drink selection in the colder days between coffee, peppermint tea and chai latte – for every mood and daytime.
