Chapter No. 1

Every year at this time we all have the same question in mind – what to gift for Christmas and where do I find good gifts? This year I have decided to do my own research and write down different things that caught my eye. To make the gifts extra special, I specifically looked into products made by Scandinavian and Baltic designers and also looked at their sustainability principles. As I have so much to share, I have divided the guide into two parts. So, without further ado, have fun and get inspired by the first selection below!

• Ceramic Aroma Lamp

Handmade ceramic aroma lamp made in Latvia. Functional aesthetics, naturalness, clear design language. The aroma lamp consists of two parts. In the first part, place a tealight and then put it on top of the second part, in which you pour your favourite essential oil.

Myssyfarmi is a farm-based design company from Finland. They get their unique hand-dyed yarn from a local herd of Finnsheep. All of their high-quality garments and accessories are hand-knit by local retired ladies known as The Myssy Grannies. These cheerful ladies are the essence of the brand, knitting their own positive energy and wisdom into every stitch, even hand-signing each Myssy piece they finish. 

• Handmade Luggage Tag by Stella Soomlais

For the one that travels. The leather luggage tag is both for women and men and is quite multifunctional. Use it as a business card holder when not travelling. Add a custom text or a logo and choose a preferred colour!

• Sealing Wax Kit by Stefan Papir

Combine a custom kit with a wax stamp, coloured wax sticks and a wax spoon.

How to use the wax stamp? You can use the wax spoon to melt the wax or just light the wick of the sealing wax and drip it onto the area to be sealed. Then make an impression in the wax – press down firmly. Wait approx. 20-30 seconds before removing the stamp so that the wax has time to harden. Can be used to seal envelopes or make seals on packages.
